I Win a Cycling Race

Finally done it. I won the Sydney Cycling Club "C" Grade road race.

Race tactic was to do my turns (wouldn't want to be considered a wheel suck) but to always be there at second or third wheel and then sprint for the finish. Worked. Don't think I'll be allowed to do that again.

Only just held of the much younger challenger Adrian Atherton, who was possibly blocked by the "B" bunch whom we over took in the sprint.

Race was one hour and ten minutes plus two laps of the Lansdowne Road Circuit. The circuit had just been freshly resurfaced so was a very pleasant ride through the scrub out the back of Sydney.

Photograph shows Doc on the front, Marcus rolling off and me at second wheel as we climb up to the finish line about half way through the race. Note the great new road surface.

As my contribution to male mid-life crises I'm aiming to win the club championship this year.
